Developers

The City of Victorville's Redevelopment Housing Division prides itself on establishing strong partnerships with reputable for-profit and non-proft developers to provide high quality, affordable housing for Victorville residents. The City can assist developers in the planning and development of housing projects, including financial assistance for projects that qualify for redevelopment funding. The Redevelopment Housing Division's past projects include several multi-family developments, offering residents high end amenities at affordable prices. On this page, you will find information on the programs currently available to developers looking to partner with the City of Victorville. Housing and Community Development
The City of Victorville works closely with the State's Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). Priorities for HCD grants are specified in the 2007-2012 Consolidated Plan. The Consolidated Plan addresses the City's goals and strategies for housing and community development over a five-year period.

The City implements the Consolidated Plan through an Annual Action Plan. The Annual Action Plan identifies the specific use of grant funds for projects and activities during the applicable program year. The City then reports its accomplishments annually in a Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER).

Before the City can spend its HCD Grant funds, it must consult with neighboring jurisdictions and hold public hearings to receive input from citizen's, public agencies, and other interested parties regarding the City's needs and strategies, as well as the use of funds. Through public hearings, which are advertised in local newspapers, you can have an impact on how these funds should be spent. For further information about citizen participation, review the City's Citizen Participation Plan (PDF - 15kb).

Each year in December, the City accepts applications from non-profit organizations and City departments for HCD Grant funds.  For more information or to request an application package by mail, contact the HCD Grants Program at (760) 243-6312.
